Fast Bounce Handling

This option sets whether bounces are handed in memory, which is faster, or if they are saved in the incoming mail database, and processed there.

When a message mailing is sent out to its recipients, some of the recipients will bounce back a message saying they could not receive the message. Lyris List Manager automatically tracks these messages, and determines when an email address has become invalid.

Lyris List Manager can keep track of these bounces in memory, as they occur. The downside to this approach is that the bounces will not appear in the "incoming mail" web page of the web interface. On the other hand, this is a very fast way to process these messages.

However, if you want to be able to view the bounces that Lyris List Manager received by looking at the "incoming mail" web page of the web interface, you should disable this feature. Earlier versions of Lyris List Manager (before v3.0) could not process bounces in-memory, and this option is a backward-compatibility setting for those who want to have it work the way it did before v3.0.
