Version 8.0
Major Features
New Homepage
New ListManager homepage shows list statistics at a glance. User configurable shortcuts allow quick navigation to frequently visited pages.
ListManager Clustering
Cluster multiple ListManager instances for true load distribution, redundancy, and improved processing speeds.
RSS
Publish your list's email as an RSS (Rich Site Summary) feed. ListManager's RSS is the first commercially available software to support authentication and authorization.
Recency Limits
Beat email fatigue by setting recency limits for your list or for your mailings. ListManager allows you to exclude those who have received too much email recently from receiving your current mailing. You may set recency limits on the list level, and also override those settings on a per-mailing basis.
Campaigns
Group several mailings together in a campaign, then see the results in Reports.
Suppression Lists
Create a suppression list using ListManager's enhanced member bans. Automatically unsubscribe banned email addresses, and prevent them from ever being added to a list again, either via subscription or admin import.
SPF Authentication
ListManager can now use SPF (Sender Policy Framework or Sender Permitted From) authentication to check incoming mail for forged email headers. By using SPF, ListManager can prevent spam or virus-generated email from being posted to lists. SPF can also prevent spam addresses from being added to lists, or from unsubscribing legitimate members.
Minor Features
View and edit additional demographic information about your members directly in the ListManager web interface in Utilities: Members.
Track who's clicked on a link to take a survey--and compare the number of clickers to the number who have completed the survey to see who dropped out.
Server admins may override serverwide scripting level limits for individual lists. This new setting allows server administrators to restrict scripting for the server as a whole, but allow it for selected lists--or vice versa.
Survey questions may now be edited using ListManager's survey form builder.
Show more buttons increase your working space when creating new content, segments or mailings.
User interface preferences (such as shortcuts and field size) are kept for each administrator.
New chart allows unique clickthroughs per URL for a mailing or campaign.
Recipient information for a mailing may be downloaded as a CSV file.
You may now use a template to create a mailing. Previously, a template could be used to create content, which could then be imported into a mailing. You may now skip the step of creating content, and go directly to creating a mailing.
You may now change the default time and frequency for ListManager's scheduled tasks. Change how frequently digests are sent, and when ListManager checks to delete members according to your settings.
Administrators can be emailed their password if they are unable to log in.
The format for date and time fields is labeled in the interface.
Bug Fixes and Notable Changes
ListManager now uses PostgreSQL 7.4 for Linux. Other versions of PostgreSQL are not supported.
The ListManager web server IOCP issues have been resolved.
Site and server administrators have greater access to the Discussion Forum Interface without having to log in as a list member.
Forwards reporting corrected so that number of forwards is not shown as a negative number.
Replying to a single confirmation message to confirm membership to multiple lists sends a hello message from each list.
Server administrators can run queries properly in Utilities: Administration: Server: Database.
The ability to "append to" an SQL query when creating a segment has been removed. The "append to" field of any segment created before 8.0 will be added to the end of the SQL query when the server is upgraded to 8.0 or higher.
Test mailings will no longer create false duplicates.
Selecting a sample when creating a Mailing selects a random group of recipients. Previously, the same group would always be selected.
Multiple administrator logins will no longer cause administrators to change lists.
All data for a report is displayed in the chart table for the report. Although the chart itself is limited to showing 19 data points, all data for a report may be viewed and downloaded as a csv file by clicking on the disk icon on the chart table.
Charts may be rebranded for those who have a rebrandable license.
Site and server administrators may now log in and view messages in the discussion forum interface without being members.
XML and other HTML coding is displayed properly in the Discussion Forum Interface.
Command addresses may no longer be subscribed to lists.
