Major New Features

Preview Mailing

Preview what a mailing will look like for a random address, or for an address you select--before you send. Most mail merge codes, conditional content and scripting will be merged to let you see what they'll see.

Default Segment

Administrators may specify a default segment for new mailings; previously, a mailing would be sent to the entire list by default.

Automatic FCC CAN-SPAM Wireless Compliance

ListManager can automatically check the list of wireless domains maintained by the FCC and ban those addresses from receiving mail.

Retry Transient Failures After Mailing Completes

Click a button to have ListManager attempt recipients with transient failures (soft bounces) another time.

Personalized RSS Feeds

RSS and NNTP messages merge in member information if available (i.e., if the member logs in).

Expanded Database Support

ListManager supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in beta.

Minor Features and Changes

    Different headers and footers may be added to the text and HTML portions of messages to ensure they are formatted correctly. Note that if you currently have text headers and footers, ListManager will create an HTML formatted header or footer when upgraded to this version.

    The count of the list's active members is displayed on the home page.

    The status of any queued messages is displayed on the home page, alerting administrators at a glance if a mailing was unsuccessful.

    When configuring logs admins may select all subsystems with a single click.

    All list administrators are displayed in Utilities: Administration: Administrators: List Admins.

    Server administrators may configure the message ListManager displays when the server is unavailable.

    Members are not automatically deleted when a confirmation message is rejected with a permanent (500) level error. These members will have a Member Status of confirm-failed to alert administrators of possible deliverability problems with confirmation messages.

    ListManager will inform those attempting to access the interface if their IP address is being blocked.

    Member import indicates the number of duplicate addresses already in the list.

    Retry Timing entry field enlarged so more retries may be scheduled.

    Mailing statistics granularity changed, showing KB sent instead of bytes.

    DNS diagnostic tool displays what ListManager's DNS resolver is returning for the specified domain.

    Clear activation and Get activation buttons have been added to the page displaying ListManager's license capabilities.

    Previous Start Time and Previous End time for scheduled tasks is recorded to allow administrators to see if there are problems with scheduled tasks.

    Subscribe forms will not accept password entries containing white space.

    When upgrading from 8.9 or earlier, the default email headers and footers will be converted to HTML without using quoted printable encoding.

    Intermittent reporting problems with ListManager and EmailAdvisor integration have been eliminated.
