Create Site Quick

This option allows you to quickly create a site and topic from one page. To see all the setting options for a site, you may either select Create Site (Advanced) from the Server Admin Sites menu, or create a quick site and then edit it in the Site Admin menu.

Where is it available?

You may log in as a Server Admin and click on the Sites button. Or, you may use the Create New Site Shortcut on the Admin Login page. Only server administrators may make new sites.

The number of sites you are permitted to have is determined by your license. The advantage of having multiple sites is that each site can have a different Internet host name, and all the lists under the site can be administered by a single site admin. Contact your account representative at sales@lyris.com if you'd like to have more sites.

Site Name

Required. Single word that identifies this site (for example, "clio"). This name is used by administrators to identify the site, and is not seen by users. Use only lower-case alphanumeric characters (a-z, 0-9), hyphens (-), or underscores (_). Do not use spaces. See Site Name for more information.

Internet Host Name

Required. Full Internet host name of the machine for this site (for example, "clio.shelby.com"). This name cannot include an "@" sign. Note that you must have registered a DNS entry that references the IP address of the machine on which ListManager is installed. By default, ListManager will provide the helo text value. See Host for more information.

Topic Name

Required. Single word which identifies the general topic for a list (for example, "sports"). Use only lower-case alphanumeric characters (a-z, 0-9), hyphens (-), or underscores (_). Do not use spaces.

Description

Required. A short description of this topic (for example, “Sports Lists”). This description will be displayed in the ListManager main menu.

Save Site

Saves the site, and proceeds to the Site Created page. From this page, you may either create a list, or go to the Site Admin menu.
