How to Use this Manual

Navigating the Manual

The manual is displayed in three panes:

1. The main pane (on the right) displays the current manual page

2. The left pane displays either the Index, the Table of Contents, or the Search feature.

3. The top pane contains the buttons that determine what is displayed in the left pane.

Sidebar on/off

The left pane disappears, and the URL for the specific page you are on appears.

Index

The Table of Contents is removed and alphabetical index of key words is displayed.

Contents

The Table of contents is reset so only the top level is visible.

Search

Opens a search window in the left pane.

Using the Index

1. Click Index in the upper right corner.

2. On the left side of the screen in the box to the left of Display, type a word that describes what you are looking for

      -or-

     Find the word in the list and double-click it.

      If the index word has a single topic associated with it, the topic appears in the main pane. If the word has two or more topics associated with it, they appear in the box beneath the list. Click the topic that best fits what you are looking for.

Searching the Manual

1. Click Search in the upper right corner.

2. Specify the word(s) you would like to search for in the manual. If you specify multiple terms, the search will return all topics with any of those terms. To narrow your search, use the following operators between them:

and

A matching topic must include both terms.

or

A matching topic may include either term.

near

A matching topic must have the words in close proximity to one another.

not

A matching topic must not contain this word.
