DNS Connection Problems with Multiple Network Cards

 

Problem: ListManager is unable to connect to the DNS server, even though the necessary ports are open and lookups can be performed successfully from the server.

 

This problem occurs when ListManager uses a TCP/IP address for outbound SMTP that cannot connect to the DNS server. This situation sometimes occurs on machines with multiple network cards. The solution is to specify the TCP/IP address to be used for outbound SMTP in the server network settings.
