Problems Starting with Assertion: "uRetCode == 0" Error

Problem: When starting ListManager on Windows, the following error message appears:

C:\lm>lm start
Attempting to connect to server: .........................
Obtained 25 connections to the database.
Using bundled 'MSSQL' server on '(local machine)' and database 'ListManager'
Starting:
Assertion: "uRetCode == 0" C:\dev\listmanager\src\platwin.cpp 278
Command failed!
Program exited suddenly

This problem is caused when the Client for Microsoft Networks has not been installed. It does not need to be enabled, but it does need to be installed in order for ListManager to function properly. To install it:

1. Go to Networks and Dial-Up Connections by clicking on Start, then Settings.

2. Double click on your network connection. A Status box should open.

3. Click on Properties. See if Client for Microsoft Networks has been installed. If not, click on Install.

4. Select Client, and click Add.

5. Under Select Network Client, select Client for Microsoft Networks. You may need to provide your program disk for the Client.
