Pull Only Normal Members?
When posting to a list or a subset, ListManager automatically adds some additional restrictions to the member selection query. These restrictions only allow sending of mail to members of type 'normal' ( i.e. not held or unsubscribed ). However, there are times when one might want to send to all members of a list regardless of whether they are set to receive message as sent. Or, perhaps you want to send the message to all members including those who may be held.
These types of postings are possible by modifying the Pull Only Normal Members? section in the Advanced Subsets page. In general, one should never need to modify this setting, and problems can occur if you modify this setting without understanding the consequences. For example, you could end up sending to members who have unsubscribed from your list, or you could send to every member on the server inadvertantly.
By default, the subset will pull only "normal" members, not those who have unsubscribed from the list, who are held due to bouncing too much mail, or who have not yet confirmed that they'd like to receive mail from you. By selecting "No, you will send to all members who meet your subset criteria, regardless of the status of their subscription.
Warning: By selecting "No", you may be sending to people who do not want to receive your mail. These people may be unhappy about receiving your mail if they haven't opted in, or have already opted out of receiving your mailings. Additionally, if you choose to send to members who are on hold, you will most likely have slower sending speeds and lower success rates.
