The Apache Web Server
When installing ListManager, a special version of the Apache Web Server is also installed. If you have your own web server already installed on the same machine, you will have an opportunity to install the ListManager Web Interface on that web server, rather than Apache. In other words, Apache does not have to be your web server in order for the web interface to function.
The main advantage of using the Apache web server is speed. Using the mod_perl module, Apache can return your CGI requests on average 2-3 times faster than web servers that do not have mod_perl technology.
