Mail Delivery Statistics
This page displays a chart will indicating the speed of mail delivery over time. The frequency of the data points and the number of data points on this chart can be effected through the server config settings "Mail Delivery Statistics Size" and "Mail Delivery Statistics Interval".
The chart shows the number of messages attempted, the number successfully sent, the number failed and the total bytes sent for the period selected: per hour, minute or interval (as selected in Mail Delivery Statistics Interval).
If you see a great deal of messages failing, check to see what kinds of messages ListManager is delivering in Outgoing Mail. If all the messages are in retries, you will see a higher percentage of failures, since ListManager is attempting to deliver to addresses which have already failed once, and are more likely to have become invalid.
Another reason why you may see a large percentage of failures may be because you are sending to your list for the first time, and there are many bad email addresses that need to be purged. You may want to adjust the retry timing for the server so that the server doesn't use all of its resources trying to send to bad email addresses repeatedly.
If you have been running ListManager for a long time and you see a high percentage of failures, the error mail settings may be incorrect for your list, and you may be accumulating bad email addresses instead of putting them on hold and purging them.
If all your mail is failing, you likely have network problems. Delivery Reports can help you troubleshoot what the problem might be.
See Making ListManager Faster for more information on how to deliver mail more quickly.
