Archives

Archive Days

This setting determines for how many days the archives of this mailing list will be kept. For example a setting of "10" means that 10 days worth of messages will be saved. Messages older than that will be automatically removed each day at midnight.

A setting of 0 (zero) is the default and tells ListManager to not use this setting for removing archives. This is the equivalent of no limit.

Archive Number

This setting determines how many messages from the list will be saved in the archives. For example, a setting of 10 means that the previous 10 messages will be saved in the archives. Any old messages beyond the most recent 10 messages would be automatically removed.

A setting of 0 (zero) is the default and tells ListManager to not use this setting for removing archives. This is the equivalent of no limit.

Save Archives

This option determines whether messages sent to this mailing list will be saved in the archives. Saving a message in the archives allows it to be read at a later date.

Not saving archives conserves disk space.

Note: If you disable archive saving, users will no longer be able to receive digest versions of the mailing list. If you want your users to be able to receive digests, but do not want to keep archives, set the Archives setting to "YES" and set the Archive Days setting to "1". See "Archive Days" above.

Archive Searching

This option determines whether archived messages are full text indexed and thus text-searchable. By default, this feature is on.

If you do fully allow text indexing of the archives, members are able to perform very fast word searches of the archives of your mailing list. However, the full text index does consume a great deal of space and may not be applicable to all mailing lists.

Save Recipient Info

This option determines whether recipient information is saved for archived messages. If you are keeping archives and you have this setting enabled, the member ID of each recipient will be saved with the archived message. This is useful for knowing which members received certain messages.
